Datchet Hall Endowment Fund

Registered Charity Number 300252

Background.

In 1960’s Datchet Village Hall was located in Priory Way. When the village outgrew that Hall and the current one in Allen Way was built the community was fortunate to be able to sell the lease of the old Hall back to what was then Eton Rural District Council.

It was decided that the proceeds of the sale, and a sum of money that had accumulated from letting the old Hall, should be used to create a Trust that would benefit the Parish of Datchet and its community.

On the 13th January 1983 The Datchet Hall Endowment Fund was created.

The Trusts objective was, and is to: -

“Apply the clear income of the Charity in or towards providing for the inhabitants of The Parish of Datchet and the neighbourhood thereof facilities for recreation and other leisure-time occupation in the interest of social welfare with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants”

In other words to use its income to help provide leisure and recreational facilities which benefit and improve the life of people living in the community.

Benefits / Grants.

Whilst a small charity, with a limited income, the Trust continues to adhere to those principles.

It invites local organisations, who may need financial assistance with specific projects, to contact it and let it know it might help.

If you think an organisation you belong to or are linked to might benefit please keep the trust in mind both now and in the future.
