M4 Motorway Closure for March
Published: 06 March 2020
The M4 will be closed in both directions over the weekend of 7-9th March 2020 between junctions 3 (Hayes) and 4 (Heathrow Airport)
This is for essential work on the carriageway and motorway infrastructure.
There is a Six Nations match at Twickenham that weekend so the closure will start at 10pm Saturday 7th March and the motorway will reopen by 6am on Monday 9th March.
The diversion routes for motorway traffic during this weekends have been agreed with the local authorities as part of the Development Consent Order process. Traffic will be diverted via the local highways network and nearby motorways depending on the direction of travel. Strategic diversions will be in place on the wider motorway network to direct traffic away from this part of the M4, utilising the M25, M3 and M40. we would advise you to use alternative routes or public transport if possible during this weekend
