Government Consultation on Flood Funding – Have Your Say

The Government is reviewing the way flood resilience schemes are funded and has opened a consultation for public and stakeholder feedback.

Why it matters:
The proposed changes could affect how future flood schemes are prioritised and delivered, including those relevant to our local area.

Key proposals include:

  • A simplified approach to funding new flood resilience projects
  • A revised method for prioritising which projects are supported

The Environment Agency encourages all residents, community groups, and stakeholders to review the consultation and submit feedback.

Consultation closes: 29 July 2025

Datchet to Hythe End Flood Improvement Measures – Project Update

In late 2024, the Environment Agency hosted a series of public events across the area to present a shortlist of options to reduce flood risk.

An update on the recommended option was originally planned for early summer 2025. However, progress is currently delayed as the Agency awaits key information, including the outcome of the Government's funding consultation.

As a result, the next round of public engagement is now expected to take place in September 2025.

In the meantime, the project page has been updated with the latest information, and residents are encouraged to stay informed via the Environment Agency website.
