RBWM Catapults PSPO Consultation
Published: 27 November 2025
Overview
We are consulting to introduce a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO). PSPOs create legal powers to help authorities address specific anti-social behaviour issues in an area that are having a detrimental effect on the quality of life for those in the local community.
Consultation: Catapulting
Royal Borough residents are being encouraged to give their views on new proposals aimed at protecting people, property and wildlife from anti-social behaviour involving catapults.
The consultation proposes creating a new Public Space Protection Order to restrict the carrying of catapults. This follows a number of instances of violence against wildlife, damage to property and threats of harm to people.
If introduced, this would give police officers and community wardens the power to challenge and fine anyone found carrying a catapult or slingshot – along with stones, pellets or ball bearings – with the intention of harming people, property or wildlife. It would cover Eton & Castle (including central Windsor), Old Windsor, and Datchet, Horton and Wraysbury.
Consultation: How to have your say
We encourage our residents to state whether they agree or disagree with the proposal, to offer any further comments or suggestions, and share experiences of any other anti-social behaviour issues in public spaces. Your feedback will be analysed and shared with all councillors to help inform future discussions and decisions concerning the PSPOs.
Please view a draft copy of the order on the right-hand side and fill out our survey below to have your say. This consultation will be open until Thursday 8 January 2026.
