The event will include a large parade of Royal Marines from Victoria Barracks up to Windsor Castle. To ensure the safety of residents, visitors, and participants, temporary road closures and parking suspensions will be in place. We kindly ask residents to avoid vehicle movements in and around the town centre during these times. Footways will remain open, and police officers will be present at all closure points and throughout the town centre. More information is available in local traffic updates below. | Carers Week Carers Week starts on Monday 8 June and is a chance to recognise and celebrate unpaid carers. A range of local events will take place across the borough, offering advice, practical support, wellbeing activities and opportunities to connect with others. | | Fire safety and responsible recycling As the weather warms up, it’s important to recycle and dispose of items safety at home and when out and about. Remember to use BBQs safely - never place them on dry grass or balconies, keep water nearby and make sure they are completely cool before disposal. Batteries and vapes are a hidden fire risk if put in bins, especially if crushed during collection. You can also recycle small electricals at home by placing them in a carrier bag on top of your blue bin lid - just keep batteries and vapes in separate clear bags. There is also a dedicated vape recycling bin at Stafferton Way Household Waste and Recycling Centre. Never put these items loose in your bins. | | Resident Newsletter Changes We wanted to let you know that we’ll be switching to a new email newsletter provider from next week. Your weekly resident newsletter will continue arriving as usual each Friday, but the design and layout may look a little different once the transition is complete. You don’t need to take any actions. However, if you’d like to amend any subscription details ahead of the change then please either update your details or unsubscribe by Wednesday 3 June 2026 via the link in the footer of this email.
