Sustainability Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) Public Consultation
In June 2019, the RBWM declared an environment and climate emergency. This declaration enshrined the target of net zero carbon emissions in the borough by 2050, in line with the Government policy.
A Sustainability SPD is one of the key actions identified in the Environment and Climate Strategy 2020-2025 and is required to help shape development in the direction of net zero carbon, protect and enhance the natural environment, drive carbon reductions in the borough and deliver wider climate change mitigation and adaptation.
The Council has now produced, for public consultation, a draft SPD document. This consultation runs for six weeks, until midnight Monday 27th November 2023.
To access the event, view the documents and comment, please use the Sustainability SPD Consultation portal: https://consult.rbwm.gov.uk/kse/event/37688
Please note, if you would like to comment on more than one section/paragraph/appendix of the SPD, the consultation portal allows for multiple forms to be completed on the same registered consultation account. After submission of the first form, the web page returns to the home page for further representation forms to be completed.
Alternatively, please visit the Council's Sustainability SPD webpage where you can view the draft SPD document and supporting documents and complete the feedback form which can be returned by email or post.
Public access computers are also available in Maidenhead Library, Windsor Library and Ascot Library where you will also be able to view a hard copy of the SPD and pick up a feedback form. Paper copies of the response form, if required, are also available from all libraries upon request.
All comments received will be carefully considered as part of the process for preparing the final SPD document.
Please note that responses must be attributable to named individuals or organisations. View our Privacy Notice – Privacy notice : Planning Policy : Consultations and Call for Sites | Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (rbwm.gov.uk)
